Tokyo, Japan – July 1, 2021 – With only a few weeks to go before the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 kicks off, it’s been a flurry of team announcements from equestrian federations around the world selecting their horse-and-rider combinations. Teams will consist of three riders and there continues to be a shake-up of individual slots due to riders unable to earn qualifying scores due to scheduling issues or giving up their slot due to COVID-19 complications. 30 nations will be represented in this year’s Olympic Games with a total of 60 athletes competing.

The dressage competition for the Olympic Games will kick off Saturday, July 24 and Sunday July 25 with the Grand Prix, the Grand Prix Special, which determines the team medals, will take place Tuesday, July 27.
